Your Role
  • Lead the design and implementation of the sales strategy for Asia across media rights and sponsorship sales
  • Accountable for delivering the sales forecast and pipeline for the region, providing up to date regular reports to the CEO
  • Manage the end to end sales cycle from prospecting to contracting, supporting front line agents across the region
  • Develop sales plans and strategies for the key Asia League markets based on a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the relevant landscapes within sponsorship and media
  • Develop a strong understanding of media buyers and competitor properties across each key market
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of the basketball (and the wider sports) landscape in Asia
  • Collaborate with the Event Operations team to develop and define sponsorship rights packages
  • Develop exceptional sales material, including presentations and videos
  • Lead pitches from planning, preparation and research initiatives through to execution of the pitch
  • Develop and maintain strong positive relationships with prospective and existing key clients
  • Identify opportunities for organic growth with current partners
  • Identify, procure and manage third party resource for the wider markets, working with local country leads to support their markets effectively
  • Oversee the post-sales transition for new sponsorships, ensuring implementation of all sponsors’ contractual assets with the Event Operations team
Requirements

Essential:

  • Written and spoken fluency in Mandarin is mandatory
  • High Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • At least 5 years’ experience selling premium sports properties in Asia is a must; China experience and knowledge of the market is essential
  • Consistent track record in exceeding sales targets with demonstrated skill in negotiating and closing sales agreements
  • Experience selling into C-level decision makers, ideally with an established network of connections within blue-chip companies in Asia
  • Experience in rights segmentation, packaging and pricing
  • Strong understanding of the media and sponsorship landscape within sports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills
  • Exceptional relationship builder, comfortable operating across multiple markets
  • Knowledge and understanding of cultural and political sensitivities within Asia League’s target markets
  • A high work rate, able to manage competing priorities and deliver high quality work under time pressure

Desired:

  • Knowledge of Japanese, Korean and Cantonese are an advantage
  • Experience working with basketball properties is an advantage
