Your Role

Full ownership of the marketing and communications strategy of Asia League and its flagship events and initiatives, which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Lead the central marketing and communications function, creating comprehensive marketing and communications plans, with China being a priority market
  • Oversee the localization of the regional communications and marketing initiatives, working closely with the team across the region to tune to local insights or positions
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders on planning and execution, ensuring they have a comprehensive understanding of the key messages and strategic plan for the region and market
  • Collaborate closely with regional digital marketing lead, overseeing digital content plans with input on digital strategy
  • Manage creative agency in end to end campaign development, as well as on overseeing the updating of any master brand assets
  • Provide brand guardianship for the master brand and ensure consistent usage and messaging across all channels
  • Manage and oversee the central budget ensuring cost effectiveness
  • Manage third party vendors where necessary, for example, local PR, content, production or planning agencies
  • Develop and build strong relationships with key government/local stakeholders, aligning overall marketing plans, managing approvals across shared assets and working to create more effective, long term collaboration
  • Work closely with sponsors and partner marketing contacts to ensure marketing and brand rights are being fulfilled
  • Oversee ongoing content development and creation for new Asia League website, coordinate all translation requirements with local markets
  • Lead weekly regional calls, oversee regional content calendar and maintain regular reporting processes, with continued evaluation of effectiveness
  • Prepare and issue statements/provide relevant information or updates to key stakeholders, media or business partners
  • Tracking and reporting of performance using relevant tools
Requirements

Essential:

  • Written and spoken fluency in Mandarin is mandatory
  • High Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Bachelor’s in marketing/communications or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 6 years of integrated marketing in Asia, with a focus on China
  • Proven experience in developing communications and marketing strategies
  • Regional experience is a must – either working with local markets in a central role, or direct knowledge of the core Asia League markets
  • Expert in media engagement strategies
  • Strong writing and editing skills and ability to provide consistent tone that reflects the ethos of Asia League and its brand
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, Google docs, social media listening tools
  • Excellent project management skills – ability to manage multiple projects, timelines/deadlines; strong ability to coordinate multiple parties remotely
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent relationship builder
  • Detail oriented with high level of accuracy

Desired:

  • Existing media contacts in local market
  • Knowledge of Japanese, Korean and Cantonese are an advantage
