Your Role
  • Drive the success of our PPC campaigns. The campaigns are managed by a third-party team, and it's your job to coordinate and facilitate to ensure that key performance metrics are met.
  • Be a conduit between the PPC advertising team, marketing team, and product team. Understand the needs of the PPC team, communicate their requirements to other teams, and ensure delivery of solutions.
  • For example: Request new content or functionality needed for split-testing, tracking, and reporting. Ensure your requests are well prioritized. When new functionality gets delivered, ensure it really solves the underlying problems.
  • Define and enforce PPC/SEM best practices. You should be a world-class marketer with experience driving winning campaigns.
  • Define, track, and report weekly KPIs for the PPC team to various stakeholders. Monitor CPAs, keyword bids, impression shares, quality scores, and other important account metrics.
  • Maximize the quality of our ads. Bring in expertise from other marketers on the team, including our internationalization team. Work with our world-class designers to optimize display banners.
  • Drive creation of new landing pages with our team of content professionals.
  • Proactively understand and report on campaigns run by competitors, etc. Use that insight to improve our campaigns.
  • Identify and resolve fraudulent campaigns from other companies that abuse our brand or try to defraud our customers.
  • Drive various A/B tests across our website and apps.
  • Drive overall sales and conversion rates.
  • Keep pace with search engine optimization and PPC industry trends and developments.
  • Monitor and administer web analytics dashboards, reports, and key reporting tools, and point out key areas of importance in accordance with company goals.

Requirements
  • Experience in Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Paid Search (PPC) with popular PPC ad platforms (AdWords, Yahoo, Bing).
  • Strong command of Google Analytics.
  • Data analysis skills. You'll need to identify opportunities yourself and work with others to implement changes to maximize profit
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. You'll need to communicate quickly and clearly.
  • You'll need a driven personality and ability to work independently to do well in this role. Demand fast turnaround times, and chase and push to get things done.
  • Ability to work across teams. Some solutions will require technical implementation.
  • You should have a keen ability to ask questions and dig into an issue until you understand it.
  • You must be comfortable handling competing priorities.
  • For example, easily handle situations where you're asked to do 10 things in a day but only have time for 3 (determine which ones you're going to handle and communicate to the stakeholders).
