Your Role
  • This position is a key role in the PayMe Partnerships team to lead business and partnership strategy and execution. As financial services and related industries digitize, significant new opportunities exist to find new ways for customers to access and engage with the bank.
  • As the Partnership Business Development Manager, the role holder will work closely with the Head of Partnerships and other key stakeholders, including the Head of Product and Head of Sales to create and new partnership strategies and execute them
  • The role holder should have a deep understanding of the industries we’re operating in and help define our vision and business strategy, in collaboration with other teams
  • The role holder must be able to define optimal approaches to enable payment solutions to integrate technically with our partners and clients. This would require the individual to have in depth understanding of payment technologies across all areas of offline and online channels.
  • The role holder has responsibility for ensuring the proposed digital business model or product or solutions can be executed successfully and in accordance with HSBC policies
  • The role holder should be able to clearly articulate execution approaches and options to achieve optimal outcomes
Requirements
  • Has a track record of leading high performing partnership teams in a product centric company with significant internal and external dependencies
  • Has broad and deep experience executing industry wide partnership strategies to build innovative product experiences and go to market models
  • Can represent PayMe and our brand excellently, this role will likely have a public facing facet
  • Has experience leading a team in accomplishing its objectives, which include cross functional dependencies on teams with competing priorities
  • Is a strong collaborator and knows how to build effective partnerships across organizations
  • Is a strong negotiator and ambitious on what we should try to do with our partners and how PayMe creates value and differentiation
  • Has significant deal making experience with top 20 internet companies, interfacing with C Level executives
  • Has a history of working in a product or engineering first company, where Business Development is a strategy driver
  • Is operationally focused, with an ability to see a deal through to success, far beyond signing, leading teams through execution by using planning, metrics, and organizational structures
  • Strong decision maker, able to prioritize and guide teams through competing demands and complex problems
  • Years experience in the payments industry and or technology enabled industries
  • In depth understanding of the payments value chain such as merchants, brands, acquirers, networks, issuers
  • In depth understanding of latest business models across credit card infrastructure, digital wallets, other emerging technologies
  • Proven experience in driving virtual teams across wider stakeholder groups across complex organizational structures
